At the end of October Conrad visited the last Belgian red marble quarry that is still active in Vodelée owned by Merbes Sprimont.
For his next sculpture, I.XI.XIV (2020), that will be exhibited in the Museo Villa dei Cedri in Switzerland, Conrad will be using ‘Rouge Griotte’ marble mined from this quarry. The choice for this beautiful but undervalued Belgian marble is inspired by the special geological origin and its rich architectural history.
