The structure remains unbound, nomadic, and ever-evolving. The elements are arranged alternately along the length and crosswise, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Crafted from natural stone.

This column is a twin to Column (GWB). Both works share an identical construction — the same number of brick-shaped elements, stacked in the same rhythm and form — yet they diverge in their material essence.

Column (Rosso di Masso) is composed entirely of naturally formed stone. These bricks, cut from Rosso di Masso, are made of riverbed pebbles and rounded rocks that have been compressed by natural geological forces into a solid mass. The individual stones remain visible on the surface.

Though the two columns mirror each other structurally, they stand in conceptual opposition: one is man-made and industrial, the other shaped by nature.

The natural stone introduces another quality: it responds visibly to changing weather. When dry, the surface is matte and muted, and the individual pebbles begin to blur into a subtle, cohesive texture. But when the column is exposed to rain, the stone darkens and saturates. Suddenly, it shimmers in deep reds, and the image of the column sharpens — becoming more vivid, more present.
